Question: I’d like some advice on closets. I also have a shelf that is bad and needs organizing, but I want it to look good but not weird.

Answer: First, turn on some good music. Then, take out one drawer or take the clothes off of a drawer. Put them on your bed, and sort through them asking “do I like this? Does it flatter me? Do I have stuff to match it?”. All the answers should be yes. If you don’t have something to match it, write it down or make a mental note to get something that does match it.

When you’ve gone through a whole drawer or section, put them back either color coordinated (look up a color wheel) or just by pants/shorts or tanks/polos/graphic tees etc…

Do that until you’ve done everything in your closet.

Question: When are we going to see some advice for the guys? I would love to hear your take on how we could look better

Answer: Hmmm… I’m not quite sure which things are “in”, for guys, but I can tell you some brands I have noticed on men.
Joseph A. Banks -They have awesome sweaters and suits.
Ralph Lauren -For simple polo shirts, RL is fab! Oh, and I also like their “create your own” styles.
Land’s End -For mock turtlenecks that are great for layering.

Question: What are the trends for Summer?

Answer: Ruffles, polka dots, wedges, flip flops (of course), tankini bathing suits, and stripes.

I’d like advice on organizing my dresser. i have about ten drawers, mostly different sizes.

Answer:

Hey
Usually you have to take it one drawer at a time. Throw out what you don’t wear, what’s too small and what has big stains on it. If you like it, but has one of those problems, make a note to replace it.
Then put it back, but nicely folded up. Go through all the other drawers, and if you find something that belongs in another drawer, put it there. If you have to, take sticky notes, label them, and stick them on the corresponding drawers.

Another way is to empty all the drawers at once, but that’s usually too overwhelming.

Question:

What does one do when one’s signature fashion hits the mainstream. I have always liked loose, plaid shorts. I’ve worn them for years. Now, they have hit mainstream. Even a certain Fashionista wears them and they are cool! I don’t want to be cool; I want to be unique in my comfortable plaid shorts.

Help!

Answer: Find a new way to rock them. Hmm. Like maybe find a signature that you can wear? Like a bowler hat.
Or a plaid hat! Yes! That’s it! Wear a plaid hat, and plain shorts. Then smirk when people notice, like ‘haha, you’re still wearing plaid shorts but I’m wearing a plaid hat! Ha. You’re soooo out of style.’
