Musings of a Fashionista

Posts Tagged ‘Lea Michele

This fashion recap focuses on three red dresses of the Emmy’s.  Part 1 was some of the quirkier dresses – oh so many ruffles!

I love Nina’s dress.   I like the color – you will see a few more red dresses, red was a very popular color this year – and I like the tight fit, it flatters her.

In comparison to Nina’s strapless stunner, Kate Winslet‘s red dress looks rather boring.

Nina still beats the other two red dresses, even Lea Michele.  I usually like Lea’s red carpet style.  Let’s compare this to her red carpet dress last year.  Which do you like better?

Which was your favorite red dress?  Take the poll and comment.

I like Lea Michele. (No, really?  You’ve never mentioned that before)

The thing is, sometimes I like her style and sometimes I don’t.  I’ll show you some examples.

This one’s ok.  Not “wow” but not “ewwww”.

I like the color, her hair, and the length of the dress.  But the whole thing is only a 7/10.

Here Lea looks great! (the yellow dress)

This is just wrong.  Do normal people go along with their bras hanging out?  No, they do not.  Button up,Lea.  We know you want to look sexy, but there are other ways.

Hi everyone!  As you know, I’m a huuuuuuuuge Gleek.  So when Glee was nominated for, count them, 19 Emmy’s, I was beyond psyched..  Yay, Glee’s getting noticed!

Yes, they only won 2 (I think), and I completely disagree with that, but the 2 that they won were the ones that were best deserved.  For those of you who don’t know, Jane Lynch and Ryan Murphy won for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, respectively.

Edit 8/31: They won 4 Emmy’s.  The other two were:

  • Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series: Neil Patrick Harris as Bryan Ryan for “Dream On”
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (1-hour): Phillip W. Palmer, Doug Andham, Joseph H. Earle for “The Power of Madonna”

Now, I must discuss outfits.  I’ll give my opinion, the picture, and then a poll so you can voice your opinion.  Please comment with your opinions!

Dianna Agron from Glee

Dianna, though beautiful, totally missed the mark in this dress.  I mean, the lace is pretty, but there’s just too much of it.

Heidi Klum from Project Runway

Heidi’s dress is just too small.  I like the neckline and basically everything about it, except the length.

Claire Danes from Temple Grandin

I like this dress.  It’s so chic, and glamorous.  This, to me, is what Hollywood gowns should look like.

Lea Michele from Glee

I love Lea and her style.  (OK, practically everything about her.   Her voice, her style, the fact she’s on Glee…)  This dress is awesome.  I love the color (I have a nail polish the same color), and I think the silhouette is cool.

(pictures from, except the one of Dianna Agron.  That’s from

  • Fake blondes. Bleaching your hair is so 2009. Try highlights instead!
  • Liars. Ugh, just tell the truth!
  • Knockoffs.  When everything you wear is Frauda and Roach, you’ve got a problem.

So really, just go for the real you.  Don’t be a copycat.  For example, say you’re in love with Beyonce‘s style.  But she wears a really unflattering, ugly dress.  Do you wear it?  No!  It’s nice to have a fashion icon, but have your own style, influenced by that icon’s style.

Do I have a style icon?  Not really.  I like to look at what people are wearing, and I’m impressed by an array of people, such as Lea Michele and Emma Watson, but I’m not following their every style move.

Speaking of stars, go and comment on the Celeb Style page!  I want to know your opinion.

Hugs and air Kisses,
